I went back to Sanderson Brook Falls, which was featured in my last blog, thinking that I would climb down in on the other side of the great log which was lying across the falls in my last picture, and photograph the falls from closeup with a wide angle lens. But in the week or two that it was between the times I went there, more logs had fallen and/or washed down into the falls, so no logless photos for me.
Saturday I went out to Cook's Canyon in Barre. At least the log lying in the falls there worked somewhat better with the composition.
I actually found the little park with Cook's Canyon in it when I was driving the red truck around making deliveries. Weird thing about it was that If you follow the stream down a couple hundred yards from the site of this photograph it flows right by the receiving dock where I had made the delivery that was my initial reason for driving through the area. I had no idea that was the case, and I entered the park waaay over on the other side and I was quite surprised when I followed the stream down and came out in back of Barre Foods.
This photo is from this weekend, the prior weekend I was my first venture in there but I didn't bring my tripod and I didn't get pics that were quite good enough for my liking. But there were teenage girls walking around in bikinis so the day wasn't a loss. But I do wish that I had ever been cool and well adjusted enough as a teenager that I could have hung out with pretty girls in bikinis.
The direction my photography has been going in lately it looks like I'm becoming Maxfield Parrish but with out the naked women in my pictures. Naked women can be procured, I suppose, but that would involve payments and model releases and lots of insect repellent and having some sort of market for modern photographs that look rather similar to Maxfield Parrish paintings and I'm not totally sure how to sort all that out.
Anyway, there's an earthly paradise out in back behind Barre Foods.
The hard drive on this here laptop is nearing full so i bought an external hard drive to back up all my image files onto. In the 25 months I've had this computer I had uploaded 6999 photographs onto it. You'd think that If I had my ass in gear I would have gotten past the 7k mark, but there it is.
Too bad it can't always be May, May rather agrees with me.
