Hey folks
I guess I've kind of dropped off the blog radar lately, not that I was ever a particularly big blip to begin with.
Last weekend I got down to Philly to hang with J. some.

It was raining a lot that weekend, at least when I got down there, just like when we went on our camping trips, and like that time we stayed in a lot, and it wasn't really bad at all.
I would have liked to do the philly art museum but J had prearraged for us to have lunch with her gay friend michael. He was pretty cool. When they had a moment apart from me he told her " I love him for you."
Thing about me and J is that we're partly compatible, which I suppose I've mentioned before. I have to be careful about keeping the language of our relationship appropriate for friends with benefits rather than a total boyfriend/girlfriend type thing. I slipped up a bit in the Reading Terminal Market when we were looking at some flounders in fish seller's cooler, and I said " Would you still love me if one of my eyes migrated to the other side of my head. . . .' oops I said love. I guess I will always love her even if ultimately we're not the "one" for one another.
I've been brooding about attempting a career change, trying to imagine myself orchestrating all the variables that you have to handle for yourself if you want to make your living as a professional photographer. How and where do I attempt to sell what images? At what price? Who do I ask about attending craft fairs and other such venues? What set up do I need, how do I fit it in my car? Where do you get a shrink wrap machine? And I'm sure there's lots I haven't thought to consider. Just in the past few days I've been considering picking up a printer and getting a continous feed ink system for it. But then if I got such a thing, there's really no point in having it unless i really go through with this idea of selling images at craft shows. I've only ever gotten one print from a digital photograph before.
I was also just reading the preview on dpreview.com of sony's new 24mp dslr that's just made it's initial peek of an appearance. Msrp 3 grand. I would guess about 2400 street when it comes available. I'd sure like one but that's a lot of cash for a piece of technology that will be obsolete in a couple of years. I guess what I'm going to do is set my minimum bank account balance at a certain figure, and only what I can save above and beyond that will be available for such things as monster cameras. If I stay at coke and business doesn't slow down too much over the winter I should be able to pick one up by springtime I guess.
I guess that's about all I've got to report on for now.

that's a lot of work. omigod. really. i think it also really depends on what kind of photography you want to do... do you want to just stick with digital? i know you have a lot of nice old film cameras, it would be great to see you do some stuff with those. have you ever taken any photography classes? i ask because you get to develop things yourself and you really get a feel for how the wheels turn etc. when you can manipulate things with your hands it gives you a real satisfaction that i've never gotten solely from digital.
when i read that i thought i was about to cum, but i managed to control myself. wwwwooooowwwwww.
and,
you are a big blip! so come back!

No matter what, you're great for using the L word, even if it was by accident, even if she never says it back. Good for you.
