Greetings, Lizardo Readership
I hope all are in good health and finding their path to enlightenment is flowing smoothly today.
I broke down and spend 11 bucks for one week of wireless service at the provider that's in the Love's chain of truck stops. It's actually cheaper than what cingular wireless would be but i'm restricted to this chain of truck stops.
I really shouldn't need the internet as much as I do psychologically, but then again being alone for extended periods will reveal to you that you are a people person where you had been disposed to think you weren't.
But what I meant was that I don't try as hard to improve myself as I ought to; I brought my good guitar and some music books along with me this time but It's been four days and I've yet to touch them. I dislike physical and mental exertions when I'm not in a state of complete absorption in what I'm doing. I love music but have less ability to make it than I would like to have and I have trouble steeling myself to practice, a lot of the time. Today I was singing Puff the Magic Dragon a lot while I was driving. the song moves me to tears. Damn hard chords to play though. I brought my peter paul and mary guitar music book with me and I really need to make myself practice some of the songs. I can almost do the bob dylan song "blowin in the wind."
Right now I'm maybe a dozen miles south of louisville Ky at that love's off exit 161 in bullitt county in case any of you are passing by and want to come in and say hey; I'm in the restaurant part. KY is indeed a beautiful state but it's a little bit lacking in truck stops. perhaps not a coincidence. anyway, I did pass a very pretty rest area on the way into louisville i'll have to stop at sometime. One thing that I find frustrating as a truck driver is that I get fairly close to large cities that I'd like to explore but not quite close enough. It's unfair to us; life as we would know it would not be possible without trucks and drivers but we are not loved, and are not invited close to a lot of the really nice parts of the society that we make possible.
Whatever. I brought my old bridgestone racing bike on my truck with me this time. It really saves time instead of walking from my house to the springfield mass truck stop, and it allows me to explore the countryside where i am if I have time. It takes up a hell of a lot of room on the truck though. The wheels are off it and in front of the passenget seat, and the frame is bungee corded up against the side of the passenger seat to keep it out of the way. Being a racing bike the "low" gears aren't all that low, and I haven't been riding it so much as where I live in spfld it's pretty hilly, but when I take it out in flat country it still surprises me how fast that thing is.
One thing i need to download is a pdf document on self-determination theory that I came across one time. It's the closest thing I've ever found to my theory of motivation, and I need to read through it to have some basis to start a conversation with the established world of psychology so as to introduce it to my own theory.
Well, love and kisses to all.
