in lieu of being implicated in any messy real life drama, i simply make up my own imaginary ones. it's working rather well. i already have an arch nemisis who i must confront everyday. she doesn't even know that we're arch enemies. yesterday she said i was cute. oh i hate her so much! and i have a crush i'm determined to never meet. or at least draw out as long as possible. the purest form of love y'know. like that old petrarch and laura.
and of course in a town of so many gone ghosts it's easy to extend long forgotten drama's into the present and work around them like they were real. streets you won't walk down, places you'll go out of your way to avoid, names you won't even speak b/c of some past indiscretion. it gives the days a pleasant tension which otherwise absent would render everything dull.
but, on the other hand, there's nothing like a good porch sit.
