when i was a child ghostbusters was my favorite movie. my friend michael and i almost had the film memorized and we would recite the lines in my backyard. my favorite scene to do was "we're gonna have to put a little overtime in on this one." which of course is the scene when the ghostbusters first arrive to dana's apartment building for the final climatic battle. we would go as high as we could on my swing set and scream it just as the winds were picking up. those were the days. it's still a really good movie and i enjoyed watching it tonight. somethings stick out more than others these days however:
1. why is the epa so demonized? it seems a bit harsh in retrospect.
2. where is the love? egon and janine's love affair is never developed at all and is totally thrown away.
3. "i want you inside me." did sigourney weaver actually say that. i was a kid for crying out loud.
i was a kid. i am no longer.
