well it is friday again, it seems like this week has just flown by. The Combat Life Saver class was really good this week, we did our sticks on thursday and i got mine done on the first try, so know if someone needs an IV i am the man to give it. we took the final today for the class and i only missed one question. So that was good, the class was also worth 2 college credit hours, not bad for army training.
this morning we had a Battalion Run, we ran about 4 miles and did a few rather large hills that sucked a lot, but i got through it. Got to sit through a DUI Class this afternoon because one of the Soldiers in our Company got a DUI two weeks ago, so that took up about 2-3 hours of my friday night. Some people just can't get it through their heads not to drink and drive. Now let me explain this, our company has what they call the Alpha thru Echo plan.
Alpha - Your battle buddy aka as the person that you had as your DD, now let's say they started drinking then you go to plan Bravo
Bravo - A back up battle buddy, someone else that you know at the bar that is not drinking, let's say you don't see any other friends, then there is plan Charlie
Charlie - CQ (Charge of Quarters) basically someone that is at the barracks to make sure nothing bad happens, signs visitors in, etc. well they have $20 for a Taxi ride from where ever you are to the barracks, let say you can't find or call a cab, then there is plan delta
Delta - Call the First Sargeant for a ride no questions asked, for you civilians out there that is like calling your district manager for a ride. if the 1SG is not there then you have plan Echo
Echo - call the Military Police station, they will send a patrol car to come pick you up with in a 50 mile radius may even further.
Now to me that is a hell of a lot of available no questions asked options to prevent you from driving. Why would you ever get behind the wheel. Plus every friday we have a safety brief and this is pounded into our heads over and over.
well enough about that, not sure what i am doing this weekend but next week is going to be busy for me.
God Bless
