Ok Friends now for a bit longer of an update
Well it had been five months now since I last saw most of you. I have experienced things in that time that will forever shape the rest of my life. It will soon be three years that I have known most of you and I wanted to take a moment to let all of you know that I think of all of you often and that although I am on the other side of the world, know that you guys are always with me.
Just wanted to get the sappy stuff out of the way
So I got 'Whiskey on a Sunday' flogging molly's latest yesterday from mike and stacy which was probably one of the best gifts ever. I watched the DVD last night at I was totally enthralled by them. I have never been one to follow a band so close that I could tell you if they prefer boxers to briefs. Nor could I tell you the names of most of the members in the bands that I like. I never really knew where flogging molly came from, more so from a lack of finding out then from caring less. I realized when I was watching this documentary how wrong that is. I think in order to understand the music that you like it is important to understand where it comes from. As I guess most people do, well I guess I need to start. If I was forced to choose one band to call my favorite, it would be flogging molly. And for those that really know me that would surprise them.
Ok right now as I type this I am listing to 'the format' newest album 'dog problems' that I was very excited to be able to download from itunes. I have listened to the whole album once so far and well let me just say that I don't think it is as good as 'Interventions + Lullabies' but maybe I will have to listen to it a few more times. I am going to have to limit my itunes downloads as I could easily spend all the money that I have saved there. Also I forgot to download some Ramones and others as I don't have nearly enough punk music on my ipod. I was also able to reauthorize some songs that I had downloaded while I was on r&r but couldn't play anymore because I got a new laptop. So I once again get to listen to 'simple twist of fate' from a Dylan tribute album covered by the format, just like the song.
Well September is almost upon us, which means 90 days left here for me. I should be back in Kansas during the first week of December, and then we will have about 10 days of classes. Then I will go on leave for 30 days, and I plan to spend most of it in Arizona. So I wish I was going to be back in time for the SGAZ Christmas party but I doubt that. But I know that we will have a bunch of get together's regardless. I see that SGAZ is down to 50 odd members, hopefully that means that there is a larger turnout at events. Oh and I will be in AZ for New Years so that is exciting, also I am open to any road trips that anyone might want to take. So if any of you guys are planning any open (i.e. you wouldn't mind my drunk ass there) get away's at that time let me know. I am going to try to do as much as I can. Mostly because I don't know what will happen if I have time to reflect on the last year.
Well my writing has pretty much gone nowhere, not so much for lack of material, more so for lack of discipline to actually do it. Although this sounds a bit haughty but I know that I have the talent I just need to know how to use it.
I shaved my head last night, without bleeding all over the place I might add. So I am totally bald again, which I guess I like, just need to get a bit of sun on it. I am also down to about 170 lbs that is about 30 lbs lighter that I was when I lived in Arizona. I will try my best to stay at this weight when I return to the states. I have also been able to keep my labret without it closing up. I wish that I had tried to keep my ears at 8 gauge, I may have them re-pierced when I am in AZ I miss them. Most of you know that I have no tattoos, I still have not figured out what the hell I want. But I will be getting at least one tattoo while I am back in Arizona.
Well this is much longer than I had wanted and I am sure that most of you have stopped reading by now so I will bid you all a fond farewell
god bless
