Well, I'm feeling a bit closer to healthy today. Certainly not there yet, but improvement is good.
Unfortunately, I still sound very ill, so work sent me home today. I worked an hour and a half, and dont think I woulda had any issues making it through the day. I certainly dont think I'm contagious anymore, but work didnt want to risk it. *grumbles* Seeing as work would have involved me sitting in an office with a closed door all day, I dont see where it should have been an issue...
So much for my PTO!
The results came back more quickly than expected from my tests. Sure enough, I do have acid reflux. Not bad enough to normally cause problems, but it should be the final piece to the winter cough puzzle. Asthma + winter air/allergens + first chest cold of the season + reflux = just enough damage to my esophagus that I end up with a cough.
However, the reflux med he gave me samples of turns out to be expensive... I checked with my insurance, and it looks like a months supply would run me nearly 200 dollars. SO, I'll be giving my doctor a call tomorrow and finding out what he can prescribe that might work as well but be all generic and cheap and stuff.
Being stuck at home, sick and bored, sure does make me update my journal more often...
