A very sad to day to those of us who have worked in the racing industry. Dan Wheldon was killed in a crash at Vegas motor speedway.
Indycars have always been notorious for being very dangerous on high banked tracks that allow flat-out speeds like texas and vegas and now someone has paid the price for their stupidity. They are supposed to get new cars next year but I hope honestly that they just fold the series and the IRL dies for the simple fact they they bought out Champcar and alienated all the fans in the process. Crapwagons as they are known to be called are called that for a reason. Paul Tracy coined the phrase when he was in champcar. He said he'd never race in one of those unsafe crapwagons. Of course he did eventually since a driver has to make a living. RIP Dan. I hope someone learns something from your loss.

And bummer about the racing guy.
