Oddly enough, I felt Jodie Foster was brilliant in her role. But that the movie itself lacked a certain Cohesion. I couldn't really "Bond" with the Protagonist. I didn't feel for him. The movie failed to build that relationship, which surprised me, as "District 9" was SO brilliant in that aspect.
I felt that the script got a bit "Hokey" in parts, and could have used some revision, and that they should have made Matt Damon's character more relatable to "everyman"
The Special and Visual effects were Amazing! The Actors did great jobs with what they had.
Watched it tonight, thought the movie was largely great. But minus points for total lack of imagination and crossing Halo and the ship from 2001 to make Elysium. Also there was a scene on board a shuttle where you saw a weightless bottle float past everyone but all the women's long hair hung down, if you are going to bother adding a cgi bottle then at least bother with the rest no?
I dont look at sets as much as I use to, but hopefulls, take note, sets like this:

are hot.
1. close up shots = very hot. even just skin on any body part lets the mind run wild.
2. smile! unless you look better not smiling, have at least one smiling shot.
3. lighting is everything., well, posture helps too.
