Ever since I heard that Master Replicas (the company that make the excellent replica lightsabers) were going to making a line of replica Muppets starting with Kermit I was debating whether to collect them or not... they make an excellent product but that quality is reflected in the price and because their products are so limited if you don't buy them straight away you'll end up paying much more through places like eBay.
So when they officially opened up the pre-ordering for the Kermit replica last week I really had to decide... so after debating the pros and cons of a grown man spending hundreds of pounds on what are essentially glorified toys I thought fuck it - and ordered one!
They're not replica puppets but instead they're replicas of the "poser" Muppets that would be used for posters, print advertisements, window displays, etc. And this is the first time that the actual Muppet paterns have been released for licensed merchandise - so they are spot on replicas (the picture above is the prototype Kermit - but I've seen the final pre-production Kermit and it's even better looking). They're limited to 2500 and they should be making two a year - originally the next in line was going to be Animal but that may now have been changed.
Personally I really want to see them do Fozzie Bear and if they could do the whole Electric Mayhem I would be insanely happy
