Wow iPod's are fun - I haven't really spent anny time listening to it but I have spent most of the weekend ripping my CDs and transferring the files to my shiny new black 30gb iPod!
Why the extravagant new puchase you may ask. Well all last week I was organising a trip to the States to attend Kevin Smith's semi-regular "Vulgarthon" film festival. This is the fifth one and will be my fourth - man how I wished I'd made it out to the one back in '98 just to have the complete track record! Anyway I've decided to make it a proper holiday this year (normally I'm in and out) so seeing as it's back in New Jersey this time (the last one was in Hollywood) I've extended my trip and will be staying in New York for four days... so I decided (since I'm splashing out on the trip and all) that I really needed a new digital camera and a new mp3 player... seriously my old one were practically antiques and were both like bricks!
Oh well I turn thirty in a weeks time so I feel okay treating myself!
So anyway I'm heading off to New York at the end of May - I'mm be staying in NYC for four nights (in a crappy hotel but it's dirt cheap and right in Times Square!) I'll be on my own but will be meeting up with a friend on the Sunday to go and see Monty Python's Spamalot: The Musical on Broadway! Then on the Monday I head over to New Jersey for another four nights - that way I wont be jet-lagged for the film festival!
The highlights this year for me will be seeing the documentary "Small Town Gay Bar" which I've read so many good things about and finally seeing the proper, original, extended version of Jersey Girl - which I actually saw last year but I fell asleep and missed the end - d'oh! This year I will stay awake!
Oh and we're also apparently getting to see Kevin's new movie, Clerks II, before it's officially released. Which should be awesome - watching a Kevin Smith film with an audience full of fans is an experience unto itself and it's always nice to have the man himself on hand to take questions and entertain us.
So anyway that's my trip! I can't wait! Now back to that iPod!
