my apartment almost burned down last nite. we were going to bed and we could smell smoke but since our smoke alarm didnt go off we didnt think anything of it. after a couple of minutes we noticed the smell was getting stronger so my girlfriend opened the bedroom door and the whole apartment was filled with smoke coming from the kitchen. so we checked it out and there was a cookbook sitting on one of the burners and the heat was turned on to high.
nobody knows how it happened because everybody had left and my roommate and his boyfriend were in his room. my girlfriend had been in the kitchen like 15 minutes before and nothing was wrong. weird.
