I give the premiere episode of The Walking Dead a B+. It's all in the details. A few tense moments that I really enjoyed, appropriate score, good character drive with the majority showing good acting chops overall. A few early contradictions to the series set "rules" already, but one's i think i'm willing to let slide.
My friend Jay made a good point. Too much digital blood for my taste, but again, i'll chalk it up to it being the pilot of a 6 episode season.
Summary: I think it's in good hands. but with only 6 episodes, i hope they try to get the pacing if they want to pick up a second season after the niche wears off for some people unfamiliar with the material.
Oh, and i want a stagger on role. BADLY.

notoriouscat:
i did not watch it because i was seeing Bad Religion tonight, but a local review that i read here made a point of saying that the premiere sets up the story but the episodes are different. i heard that it has been green-lighted for a second season.
