I am working on a project for my art appreciation class. I want to cover my thoughts and feelings towards the turmoil in the middle east, and all over the world regarding our soldiers and war.
The title of the piece will be "At what cost?" Meaning all this lost life and we are worse now than before we started the war.
Should I go vulgar and offensive on purpose to push my point?
Or, is the subject matter vulgar enough without putting emphasis on the negative; so it will be offensive without any effort.
I am tasked to create a collage. I am going to depict a bomb shape, it will be filled with the flags of all those places in the world we are at war with. It will also include those we might be at war with in the near future.
The background will be of newspaper clippings all about the war. I will use a red pencil or marker to highlight words like soldier, bomb, death, and so forth. I will add a few charts to show how much we have spent thus far on the war.
What do you think? I'll post photos when I am done.
