Here's a poem my sister wrote when our bro Gwar was murdered last year:
Torn between grief and denial
Hanging onto disbelief helps
For a while
But somewhere your body lies
Fridgid
Scars and tattoos cover the soul
Candid
I search the internet fot obituaries
Hope to avoid concrete cemeteries
My heart begs for ignorant
Bliss
My mind remains unrelenting to
Seek evidence
At the breaking point, crying
Myself to sleep
Plagued by the constant sound of
Skateboards up and down
My street
Overwhelmed by the feeling or lack of
Your presence
Expecting the door to open at any
Instant
Finally I lose resistance,
Exhaustion overwhelms
Murky waters cradle me in
Dream shells
Torn between grief and denial
Hanging onto disbelief helps
For a while
But somewhere your body lies
Fridgid
Scars and tattoos cover the soul
Candid
I search the internet fot obituaries
Hope to avoid concrete cemeteries
My heart begs for ignorant
Bliss
My mind remains unrelenting to
Seek evidence
At the breaking point, crying
Myself to sleep
Plagued by the constant sound of
Skateboards up and down
My street
Overwhelmed by the feeling or lack of
Your presence
Expecting the door to open at any
Instant
Finally I lose resistance,
Exhaustion overwhelms
Murky waters cradle me in
Dream shells
yumchen:
Sorry to hear about your bro. I had a very special friend die in april of 2001 and understand how much you miss them. It doesn't make sense when someone young dies. It doesn't seem natural like when an older relative passes. Especially with violent deaths. They are just gone. And you miss them, but that doesn't change the strange feeling that they are simply gone. Not there anymore to tell a joke or make you laugh or give you sometimes questionable advice. Anyway i hope you have a good weekend and feel better.
