This is it. I graduate this week. Bachelor of Arts, Anthropology. A real motherfucking four year degree, ladies and gentlemen. I have one more final on Wednesday and then that's it! Not doing too much to celebrate it, although my boyfriend surprised me yesterday by informing me he was taking me out for a dinner date to celebrate. So that's pretty sweet. I think I will be drinking a little extra this weekend in honor of the big commencement, we're having an SGAZ Christmas party at my house. Definitely looking forward to that too, those are always really fun.
It feels a little weird to know I am all done, I keep having these nutty dreams where I find out I signed up for a class that I needed but forgot all about it and never went to class and have an F in it. Of course this is not the case, but I keep waking up in a panic! It's so goofy what your brain can do to you. I guess it's just the idea of this big transition back into professional life. I've been there before, hell, that's why I went back to school, I would like better opportunities to get promotions and get better positions. I know having a degree is no guarantee, but I know that not having one before limited my options, so I am hopeful as I search for jobs. I've had a few decent leads, nothing to get too excited about yet, I have one I am hoping for but we will see what happens.
I have been listening to a lot of *new* jazz type music lately. Have you heard of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings? Man, they are great. They have a sweet motown sound. I love it, plus I have been listening to Amy Winehouse lately too. So good. Too bad that crazy chick is sure to kill herself soon. Man, what a trainwreck.
Check out Sharon Jones:
I swear, this is no vintage video, they are current (even on tour, unfortunately not coming through my town at the moment) Fucking rad - I love the part of the song where they slow it down. I found that band thanks to Sirius, I love having that in my car! (I can't believe how much I missed listening to Howard Stern - the boyfriend is always borrowing my car to listen to it too, we're going to have to get him his own Sirius radio too so he stops neglecting his car)
My little brother got two kittens the other day too - OMG they are so cute! They are sisters, and they have the cutest coloring I have ever seen, they are white with gray and orange spots. They are both really shy yet, but I fell in love with them both. I am really trying to get more excited about cats, as I will be living with a couple of them in the not-too-distant future. At this point I am more anxious about the horrible allergic reaction I am going to have until I get really used to them. Ugh.
Getting in the holiday spirit, getting the Christmas shopping knocked out this week.
I hope you have yourself a merry <goatse> X-mas
