Ok I just recieved my second iPod off ebay that I have bought. The hard drive on my first broke after only having it for a month (just bad luck ) and it was out of warantee be a few months, so I was out of luck. I waited about a year and finally decided to get another.
The guy I bought it from took a month to ship it to me, and only after me opening a squaretrade case against him for not responding. Now that I have it, the hard drive on it is screwy, it skips randomly to songs i havent selected, and wont play a song until I retry about 10 times. The guy said it was purchased in december '03, so it still is probably under warantee, if I act fast. I guess its time to plug every date of purchase left in december into the support website and hope it accepts one of them. If not, I guess its time to add another complaint to that squaretrade case...
It seems I mabye was not meant to have an iPod. I'm trying to take this lightly, but for some reason when I have an iPod I feel so much better about life; a dependance on a piece of electronics that rather upsets me. I just hope that one way or another I can get my money out of this one, I have payed $500 so far for both ipods combined, and as of now have little to show for it.

Ok, you're not alone when it comes to an iPod fiasco. I didn't get mine from eBay but the hard drive on my first one was fucked and i missed the warranty date by two days!! bought a new one and the screen was fucked (contrast really sucked to the point i couldn't read it). It was still under warranty but i was pissed nonetheless. So anyway, my sympathies - I feel your pain!!
