Last night I had my initiation in to the world of SGLA, via attending a party hosted at the place of Dot and Cedar - both of whom are very sweet girls.
I was invited out fairly last minute by Cosi, who I've been looking forward to meeting for awhile. It was a pretty big thing for me, being in such a new situation, actually forcing myself to go. So often I will really want to go out and meet people, but I'll end up getting shy and psyching myself out and inevitably staying home. This time I just didn't even allow that to be an option. I just got ready and went, deciding that everyone would just welcome me and it would be great. And of course it was.
Also finally got to meet toothpickmoe, who is pretty darn awesome. I guess that maxx guy is kind of alright too.
There were also a lot of people that I've either spaced out on their names completely, or there is a disconnect between their SG name and real name. Learning two names for everyone can be confusing. Also meeting a whole lot of new people all in one big whirl... my memory isn't that good. Maybe if there had been name tags.
Thus, if you see someone you recognize in one of these pictures, tell me who they are! Please!
I have more pictures from last night than just these, but right now I'm lazy. Eventually I'll probably put up some of the pictures maxx took when he swiped my camera, because they are bloody ridiculous.
That boy is lucky he didn't ruin my camera, spilling Sparks all over it. Tsk tsk.
Me and Mister toothpickmoe Both of us looking pretty silly. Which I think was probably the standard for the night.
Cedar and toothpickmoe. Moe looks oh so very serious here.
I feel bad because I don't remember her name, but she's really cute.
Another name I don't remember, because apparently I am a horrible person. Maxx is the one giving bunny ears though.
Cosi is beautiful.
Um, this might be my favourite picture from the night. It's fabulous. Seriously.
Dot is really adorable and tiny.
Maxx in a nutshell. Sparks in one hand, yellow tail in the other.
I was really hoping they'd actually make out. This picture is pretty cute nonetheless.
So, all in all - good weekend!
As you all are probably aware, today is Mother's day. I called my mom to wish her a happy Mother's day and she called me a slut. I think this probably says more about my mother than it does about me. Who calls their daughter a slut! Especially when they are being nice and calling them on Mother's day? My mom apparently. I think she thinks I'm screwing something like six different guys right now.
I'm going to see 2001: A Space Odyssey at the American Cinematheque in Hollywood tonight. For free! Hurray for friends who work there.
At least that is my current plan. I might end up not being in the mood to sit through a long movie when the time comes. We shall see.
When my apartment is actually finished being set up I'm thinking about having a little SG gathering here. Something of a housewarming. I can't fit a huge number of people in my place, but I should be able to host a decent sized group. What do you LA area people think? Up for it?
