I thought it'd be nice to share with you some of the music that has been getting me through the harder mental moments of lockdown so far -
1. At the River - Groove Armada: this song never fails to make me feel relaxed and contemplate what is good in the world rather than what is not.
2. Lazy - David Byrne (remix): Chill summery music that reminds you its ok not to be productive all the time
3. I Hope - Faithless: A song written from the perspective of a new parent - so bittersweet yet optimistic
4. Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes - an anthem that inspires romantic nostalgia and living in the moment.
5. One Step Closer to You - Michael Franti and Spearhead - faith in all its senses religious or in humanity's goodness, acceptance of fear, hope and processing complex stuff.
6. Reasons to be Cheerful - Ian Drury - proof that there's always something to be happy about - even if its absurd!
7. I have a Dream - ABBA - this one's cheesy as hell but dreams and imagination are powerful as hell.
8. Love Again - Run the Jewels - for those moments where you're horny as hell and can't see your gf/bf (best listened to in the run up to a wank sesh) P.S fun fact: masturbation boosts your immune system
9. Bored - Tessa Violet - a cheery dream-pop take on lockdown mundanity and repetitiousness
10. Down with the Sickness - equal parts a massive fuck you to the illness itself and a good chance to let out pent up feelings of frustration with some heavy-rock/metal
What music have you been listening to lately - what helps you?
P.S Don't forget that my New set Dial D for Dolores is coming out in.....1 WEEK!
