Hewo, SGland! Today is my birthday! Even though I hate winter, I really like the fact that my birthday is at the end of the year, because being at the end of the year, so close to Christmas and New Year, I usually do all my end-of-year evaluation then. I know I haven't been on SG a lot these days, I have been busy with personal issues, and other things that took all my time. But I hope to really come back soon! I am revamping my home, so that is why I haven't done any new SG sets. I am waiting to change my home to shoot any new set. I replaced my couch, my librairies, and I want to replace my living room table, my bed... And to be honest, I don't want to pay for an AirBnb to do my sets, so... that is what I am waiting on. Hopefully, next year, I will be able to do some!
This chair is so comfy, omg....
This year has been pretty busy for me. I went back in Japan in May to visit the Prefecture of Hokkaido. I haven't written any blog about it, but if people are curious to learn more about this trip, I could potentially write a blog about it. Hokkaido is nice, although even in May, it was a bit cold. It is the northern Prefecture after all! We went to Hakodate and spent a couple of days there. We went to visit Goryokaku Park and we were lucky enough to have 2 days of Sakura (cherry blossoms). Because of climate change, unfortunately, it has been really hard to predict when the Sakura will be in bloom and when the leaves are supposed to turn colours. Usually, in Hokkaido, Sakura are supposed to be in full bloom beginning of May, but they were early this year. And when we went in November for the momiji (colour season) we were early for it, which is supposed to be in November. Oh well...
We also spent a week in Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido. We met a friendly hotel crew there, and we basically became friends. He wants to open his own language school in the future, and he wants us to go and teach English and French there. To be fair, I will take this opportunity one day, just to escape.... We also plan to go back maybe in October 2025, and this time, I really want to visit the south. I hate the cold....
Our trip to Japan was one of my highlights of the year, but also, I got to meet @lucki for the first time, after knowing her for almost 5 years on SG! I can't believe it's been 5 years already... Next year will mark my 5th year as an official SG too... Time flies fast.... It was a short week, but we had fun doing stuff and walking around!
One of my big projects (not so big, but meh...) of this year was to open up a website to teach Japanese. Teaching languages is one of my passions, and some of my friends actually want to learn, so I set up a website for it. I am still working on it though. Although, a lot gave up on it lol I understand them, Japanese is so different than English or French, and with the writing system, I know it's hard to keep up. I find Japanese to be pretty straightforward, but... it isn't the same I guess when you learn it in your adult years. I myself took up some Kanji learning that I have obviously forgotten after so many years.... I remember learning them all through my primary and high school, but... didn't really practice them in my 20s so.... I was so illiterate in Japan, that pissed me off so much. Luckily, I can mostly deduct from context, but... I really need to buckle down and learn them.
I, myself, wanted to learn another language this year, but didn't really get around it. I spend too much time on Genshin... lol and now I have discovered Wuthering Waves, so 2 gacha games to take care of will take away my time even more lol..... I am not sure of the language I want to learn, there are so many I want to learn....
I hope everybody will spend a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year! 2025, eh... I can't believe we are in the middle of the 2020s already, this is so scary....
Since I haven't been on SG that much this year, I thought of doing a Q&A thingy... maybe I will do a video of it and post it. If people have some questions. Could be on anything, I have no secrets lol I think that would be fun to do, and some questions, I could ask other people to also answer them. It would be like a get-to-me-I-get-to-know-you type of thing.
Again, thank you for all the support, even when I was absent lol I'm terribly sorry about it... I actually thought about quitting since it has been so long, and I still want to work on some parts of myself. But I really miss it deep down. So, hopefully, next year, once my home is ready and once my body is ready... I shall return! Well, I did a little photoshoot already, this picture in the blog is new! One step at a time, I guess...
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
