Brody is back from Central America and had a great time (despite his passport being stolen on his first night in Mexico). He's planning to do Latin America next year and wants me to come along, so now I'm in a big dilemma...degree? or South American backpacking??? I know I should just get this degree out of the way, but B is the ideal person to travel with and has lots of experience with the backpacking culture. He's got basically the best set up possible: firefights over the summer, makes about $15-20,000 and has ridiculous amounts of money to throw around for travel and school over the rest of the year.
It'd be a shame if I didn't come along so ....so yes, I want to go...Aaaand it's settled.
It was really neat to see some of his pictures, especially from Antigua, Guate. He took a picture of one of their more famous streets, and I had been in that exact same spot at one time! It threw me back and it felt like I was there all over again...
Jamie is moving here October 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kfjflgkjdaljdfsal;kfadjl I am the best convincer-person ever.
So about 80% of my friends are going to see Tool and Isis tomorrow. I haven't seen a live band in a really long time and...I miss out on this show. I mean Tool is a given, they're awesome, their new album is pretty good, and they only tour like, once every 5 years save for the exception of festivals like Coachella, etc. And I just was getting into Isis, Panopticon is an amazing album! Usually when I go to concerts the opening bands are okay, if I miss 'em it's no big deal. But this? This is gonna be sick. And I? I'll be at Saphir for Metal night, but I won't be in Minneapolis, smashing stuff and rocking my face off to the best show ever...The thing I'm dreading most is Sunday, when everyone comes back to tell me how awesome it was and I just grumble. Yes, grumble and furrow the brow I shall...
Anything else...well my brother left for Calgary yesterday, so he's gone for good and I don't know when I'll see him again. Luckily we're both still in Canada for the meantime so maybe he'll make enough money to meet up with me somewhere next year...I'm gonna miss him. Our house is so empty now back home and my mom's pretty sad. And he left on her birthday so I guess that didn't help much. I try to call lots to help her feel better, and she's coming for Thanksgiving weekend to visit so she's excited about that. Happy belated birthday mum.
Seth is coming to visit, which was a great surprise. He's ended his trip for the year and is in Toronto for the time being, gave me a call, and I managed to convince him to stop by since he's somewhat kinda in the area, so I'm excited for that....No no, seriously - I really am the best convincer-person ever.
What elseee....oh yeah, my bike is still all disassembled in a box I miss her! I have to go on a hunt for a bike shop in the area so they can put it back together. There's tons around the city but it's the problem of dragging the stupid thing all the way there in, well, a big stupid awkward box.
Cinema Politica screenings start this Monday, can't wait.
