It's Brian's birthday today, so I'll make it priority on this posting. 31 years old and he's the youngest person I know...He sent me an email the other day, giving an update on his travels and asking about mine. Bangkok's been terribly warm but he's liking the weather as always. He'll be celebrating his birthday in the big city and as always, up to more insanity than anyone I know.
So it's been a pretty long day, somewhat rewarding. I went to explore a little bit more of the city this afternoon but didn't get very far...too much to do, not enough time. Night class was interesting. I really, really tried not to be late for it, but you can't help being tardy when the bus driver rips the front end off a Pontiac Sunfire in the middle of Sainte-Catherine St. Yep, it was pretty priceless. He had no idea what to do or who to call, fumbling with the cell phone for at least 15 minutes...and yes, I did feel bad for the guy.
Class then home then class again, and back here about to make some food but Nic's asleep, debating whether I should smash around some pots and pans that may wake him up. Who knows. This new roommate business is going okay except for the fact that he yawns exCESSIVELY loud, ALL the time, and compulsively taps his hands on the counter and snaps his fingers to James Brown whenever he can. It could be worse, at least nobody's shooting heroine on my back stairs...
Fuckin SETH is in Toronto! He's extended his Cross-Canada Canoe Expedition for another year and stopped in Kenora. I could understand, he's been through a lot doing this by himself and he's incredibly strong-willed so if he stops that means it's been truly rough...But I was glad to hear that things were going well and I'm working on trying to convince him to come visit. I've already had someone from my hometown hitchhike here to visit, and I've been here...5, maybe 6 days? I love my friends...
I still can't get over the fact that Steve Irwin has died. That and he was just off the coast of Port Douglas when it happened. Hell, I've been there!
