Yesterday was another busy day...Seth made it into town, actually he got a ride in from Silver Islet and left his canoe there for the time being, but will return to make the official paddle into town. We spent the afternoon hanging out, went for lunch and he ordered the biggest breakfast ever, I coudln't believe! but I was happy to buy b/c he was tired, poor, and starving...later we checked out a canoe/kayak place and looked at a new paddle. The one that he has is giving his wrists some major trouble so he's looking into a kayak paddle rather than a canoe one - except this one paddle has this crazy bent carbon shaft and weighs like, under a pound! It was crazy light compared to the one he has right now, like you can throw it in the air on a windy day and it'd totally fly away....aaand that being said its about 600 bucks. He can't afford it, but VISA might...I've been thinking about starting up a fundraiser for his journey, I could canvas around the neighbourhood this summer and hopefully raise some $ towards a new paddle for him. I'll see what I can do...(probably something I should've started a while ago). After that we hit up Calico's and I ran into Brian - he bought the Red Earth building so now we don't have to deal with crazy landlords and he'll be moving upstairs in a couple months. Now THAT should be interesting, I wish I'd still be here for that madness...
Seth and I parted ways later and I raced home to get to the bank. Apparently they like me more than OSAP does (and now OSAP decided they're giving me no money as opposed to very little...) so that's mostly settled and I can pay my tuition on Monday. Right after that was work @ Red Earth, visitors came by and so after work we drove out to check out some rock jumping in Mackenzie. I'd never been out there before so I had no idea there was a crazy rocky hike ahead of me, which was totally cool and not very challenging, until it was getting dark when we headed on our way back...we mostly took the river b/c the moon was brighter there and just jumped across on rocks, but then I smashed my knee against a giant tree stump when I was climbing up the path and I'm all bruisy now....
Just JUST got in from work, full out 9:30-6 on a Saturday morning and I missed out on a gorgeous day. I have a feeling everyone's out swimming somewhere and enjoying the weather. For now, relax a bit, eat some food, and wait for the sun to go down a bit so the weather resembles less of a sauna than it does now!!!
