So the phone rings and it's Dane calling from his work. I don't hang out with him much, he was in one of my classes and I see him here and there, nice guy, but crazy now that he has his dreads cut off , still not used to it!. But yeah, so he made a proposition for a road trip down to Wisconsin to see Ben Harper and Damian Marley (Bob Marley's son). Thing is, he's got two tickets: one for me, one for him. Now as much as I love road trips, I just can't do this one. I don't want to give him the wrong impression but do appreciate the offer. Rasons: a) concert's on Aug. 26th...takes a day to drive down, a day to drive back -- I'm leaving for Montreal probably no later than Aug. 28th...
b) I don't have any money c) I don't even like Ben Harper!!! and d)...probably just not a good idea, it's Dane, and Dane will only be Dane to me...and especially within days before I leave there's so much to wrap up before I go....
But do you think I could come up with a simple "no"? That's me, always excuses but I can never be straightforward when it comes to this stuff....he was calling from work, I didnt want him to have a crappy night, but now I still have to deal with saying no, and I'm the absolute worst at doing that...
