Well boys and girls...I've had quite an eventful last few days!
Monday welcomed Landon Patrick into the world. JP's sister was induced 2 weeks early. We spent most of Monday at the hospital waiting for him to arrive. There were like, 18 babies born that same day!! So, all day long we got to look in the nursery at all these teeny tiny babies...and then at 5:45 pm, Landon got here! He weighed 7lbs 13 oz, and is 20 inches long. We got to all go in and see him at about 7. Everyone held him, and I sorta hung back, because I'm not REALLY part of the family yet, and this was definitely a family thing. And then, JP's sister said, "Where's Amy? She needs to hold Landon!" JP had been holding him, looking positively terrified. So then I took him, and he's just so tiny and perfect. For a few minutes, everyone just started talking and all and left me with him...until he started to cry. He was hungry, and I couldn't do anything about that.
I'm positive JP was MORE than freaked out...after spending all day in the maternity ward and then us holding this little itty bitty baby ... I'm sure he was expecting me to be like, "Oh, I want one!" when we got home.
I'll admit...the twinge was there. But not the overwhelming urge, so he's ok.
Tuesday, I made up a doctor's appointment to get out of work (I'm horrible, I know...after all the times in the last few months I've actually HAD good reason to not be at work, I"m resorting to making stuff up not to go...at least I've got a better job coming in Sept.). JP's friend Drew is leaving in a few weeks to go to the Las Vegas Police Dept. He wronged some girl that he'd been dating for years and years, and she moved back to Vegas to be with her family, and he's spent everyday since she left trying to get on at the Vegas PD to get back to her.
Of course, he's also chased PLENTY of girls while he has still been here, though, including the girl he brought to his farewell dinner and made out with all night at Jillian's. But I digress.
We ate at Famous Dave's...yum...and then went to Jillian's. JP and his Sergeant played this shooting game for a while...I drank a mochatini. Then we played a really close game of air hockey...he won. We moved to Skee-Ball, where I schooled him.
Then, we left the rest of the group and went to the movies to see Fantastic 4. It wasn't the greatest movie of all time...but it was decently done. I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD. The action was good...and we have a thing for "based from comic books" movies.
And now, I must get ready to drive to work to see if I still have a job.
Sorry, both days I managed to forget to take my camera. So not only do you not have pictures of Landon, you're also missing out on pictures of JP and Drew trying to break Dance, Dance Revolution, and me playing this "The character moves on the screen as you move, so you must duck and twist and jump" police game. I know, I suck.
