You almost didn't get to hear from your normally happy and cheerful Dollbaby today. But, lucky for you all, Edy's Thin Mint ice cream and a Pepsi Lime came to your (and my) rescue. My head, however, still feels as though it's dangerously close to asplode...and I'm not entirely too opposed to this option, because A. It would mean my 3 day long migraine is finally gone and B. I could get a new head that doesn't have allergies.
WHAT AM I ALLERGIC TO?
It seems that lately, the only things that aren't making me sneeze are the dog (believe it or not) and my boyfriend. Everything else, and I am not exaggerating when I say everything, is making me sneeze. Basically, anything connected directly to the sense of smell is the enemy at the moment.
THE SOLUTION...
I've had all kinds of tests run over the last two years to find out the cause of these excruciatingly painful, not to mention excruciatingly long-lasting migraines I suffer from. You name it (AIDS, Hepatitis, Lyme Disease) I've been tested for it. I've had MRI's, CAT Scans...but (!) never an allergy test. The only time I get these horrible headaches is during allergy seasons. So, the obvious solution I'm seeing is: Go to an allergist. Easy, right? Wrong.
THE PROBLEM...
I have no insurance. The insurance offered at work is not only crappy, with high deductibles and preferred providers (of which my doctors aren't included, of course), but I can't afford it with the little I get paid. They want to take $55 out of each pay check...when I only barely make $400 in two weeks as it is. I know a raise is out of the question, because I'm already paid higher than what corporate has "recommended" anyway. Plus, I wouldn't be able to come up with the $400 deductible required for visits to specialists, anyway. So, it seems, I must continue to miss work.
RANT:
So, we all know that good health promotes good attitudes and attendance, which in turn increases workplace productivity. One would think, given the nothing but positive outcome good health can bring, that corporations, such as the one I work for, would want to offer reasonable healthcare to their employees at as little cost as possible. Low cost plus good attendance equals fatter checks, which in retail translates into more money being spent within the store. Instead of doing this logical thing, corporations set their insurance rates just higher than what the full time, lower tier employees can afford- the grunt worker employees, if you will. These are the people doing the majority of the work, with the least healthcare and pay. So, these people get sick, and miss work- causing their paychecks to shrink and corporate profits to shrink. And, on top of it all, people with attendance problems, illness related or not, are least likely to be promoted into higher paying positions with less work and better benefits. Please, before my head asplodes for real, will someone explain to me HOW THIS IS LOGICAL?!
Rant over.

PANTENE PRO-V BRUNETTE HAIR CARE LINE...
is the sex for hair. A couple drops of the shine serum in my hair before I blow dry...brilliance. My hair is getting REALLY long and is usually hard to manage now, but since I've been using this shampoo, conditioner, and styling product line, my hair has never looked better. They offer it for blondes and redheads as well...so to all whom this is applicable, GO TRY THIS!
WEIGHT...
I've got to lose some! Not a lot, just about 5-7 lbs or so. My clothes are starting to be too snug for comfort. This said, of course, after eating a bowl of Thin Mint Cookie ice cream. I'm well on my way, huh guys?
FREE RENT...
My boy found out the other day that if we move into apts or condos that are available to low income families, we may be able to get discounted or even free rent if he takes the position of security officer. This means he will be able to let people in their houses if they're locked out, and he will respond to any issues at the apartments if he is on duty OR will be sure that officers will respond promptly to issues if he is off duty. He's the security officer here, and really, he hasn't had to deal with much at all. Our rent is $300 cheaper as a result, but it's still $420 a month. Free sounds just...so...free. He's checking into some new condos- so new they haven't even rented out yet, to see what can happen. If nothing goes, then we'll stay where we are.
TODAY AT WORK...
I stopped a lady trying to steal $1053 worth of stuff. She did it really stupidly, and it was very obvious that she was stealing. She didn't put up any kind of fight or anything when we stopped her either. Of course, since that was a felony amount, I had to go with the officer to the Criminal Justice Center in Nashville to press charges because she was being arrested. I don't know my way around downtown via I-65, and I don't know my way around the Criminal Justice Complex side of downtown anyway. So, I got lost. I barely got there in time for my case to come up- seriously, I got in night court 3 minutes before the officer came in with my arrest. She's in jail with a $3500 bond. I was very proud of myself. My boss is on vacation this week, so there is only me working most days, and I'm very excited I got this big of a stop on my own. AND, I'm proud to say, she was NOT a crackhead like usual.
Tomorrow, I have to get up VERY early and go BACK to the CJC for a different court case. This one is for one of my very earliest stops. I wonder if the prosecutor will move for jail time...he has been on our last dozen or so, no matter how much (or how little) they stole. I'll get to testify on this one, if he does.
Kids, just remember, don't lie to the nice police officers. They won't be so nice if they find out you aren't who you say you are...and even after they leave you at the jail, lying to them will come back to haunt you later at your court date. Seriously, lying to the officer and be the deciding factor in whether or not a subject faces jail time at their hearing...which is like, 3 months or more after the incident. Why people still insist on lying, I will never know.
I LEARNED SOMETHING A FEW MINUTES AGO...and I will leave it with you in closing.
As I was leaving Wal-Mart, I saw these two teenage girls walking in. Now, it's dark, it's after 9pm, and it's pouring rain, and these girls are headed into Wal-Mart, for God's sake..and the entire time they're saying, "Ew, this rain is making my hair flat. Ew, this rain is making my make-up run. Ew. This rain is making my pants legs wet. How tacky can this be? Ew. Ew. EW"...and I thought...Wow.
You know, when you're 16, that's really all that matters. Your hair falling flat, your make-up running...not being able to look prom queen best.
And then I looked at myself. Hair- drenched, scraggly, unbrushed from laying on the couch at home. Makeup-worn off from being in the rain EARLIER that afternoon. Glasses- covered in rain droplets. I'm in flip flops. My feet are soaked. So are my pants legs. Do I care? Absofuckinglutely not. I have Girl Scout Thin Mint Ice Cream, bitches.
My, how things change.
Love and hugs!!

I thought your man was a police officer? what happened to his job? I thought security would be a step down for him. My man is tryin to get his step-up security certificate .. apparently he cant carry weapons and has to get liscensed for that as well.
My gram takes some weird shit for her allergies, it comes in a pruple round thing that looks like that "bubble tape" gum, lol. maybe its called a diskus? I forget. But if your migraines dont stop when you take allergy meds .. I would reccomend ferocet (sp?) or ultracet, they work wonders.
