So I heard the scariest thing said, and it's funny cause I knew what I was signing up for and I heard it alot in my training. But my MSgt is deciding whether to stay in and get promoted to E9 or retire and take a GS 12 job for the DOD.
Well my SSgt was telling him. " you been in the Marines for over 20 years... About to do your 11th deployment.. Spend time with your family. This deployments gonna be crazy. Were
gonna get shot at and some of our boys are gonna die."
that's when it hit me, when it came from someone who's seen war. And he's just an ammo tech. I'm gonna be fighting. But it's not me dying that scares me... It's how everyone will take it, or me if one of my friends die right before my eyes. How will I handle it?
But don't get me wrong... I'm motivated to get my bodies and do what I have been training for.
