My knee is doing okay. I had my second post op on Friday and they put me in a brace with a lock that can limit the angle I can bend it. I'm also allowed to put some weight on it; I try to keep it around 25%...ish. The Dr said I could put 50% on it then she looked at my size and said, "Maybe 25%". I don't take that as a fat comment because I think I have lost some weight since the operation. I'm going to call the rehab place on Monday and schedule something for the week. In two weeks I have another appointment at the Dr. to see how the rehab and knee brace are doing.
I got laid off from my job like 2 weeks after my operation. At least I think I did... what can you make of it?
"Given the prognosis that you will be out of work for a couple of months, your current position cannot be held open at this time. However, when you are able to return to work, please contact us so that we may determine whether we have any open positions available".
The letter goes on saying that I can keep my current benefits for six months as long as I pay them $80 a month (which I'm doing). What really confuses me is that from time to time I keep getting mail from them for things like my two year anniversary with them and the new benefits enrollment plan. My co-workers haven't heard anything and say my manager hasn't said anything about me or my position since I got put onto disability.
Since Velocity closed last week I'm going to start going to Biomech. Biomech reopened on Saturdays about 4 months ago and about 2 months ago they handed it over to Paul and Kris. It's in a hole in the wall bar called "On the Y". I like it because the format is so open; you hear shit from heavy metal, industrial, EBM, synth, and random alternative stuff. Last night was the first time I have been able to go because of my leg. I pushed it a little bit and played some pool with Lisa. It took a lot of energy out of me but it was fun. Spent the rest of the night talking with Lisa and Paul. There were some faces from the "scene" that I haven't seen in a while but mostly the place was full of normal bar crowd. My kind of people, non hip-hop, open minded and just kick back.
True Love reopened last Wednesday so I'll probably be making trips out there quite a bit.
