and lo the good Lord looked down upon them and spoke. To you my most faithful, and enduring disciples, I give unto you the gift of Vanilla Smarties. May you love them as I have loved you.
Vanilla Smarties. Yes. Thats what qualifies as exiting news around here. Well, at least its good news.
Ive been a lazy bum, as usual, but having hit rock bottom (again), and reading an interesting analogy about holes courtesy of ,TokyoSeven Im about ready to start working my way back up.
Thats it! Im swearing off E-Bay. Too much of my money gets piddled away there because I get bored and then find something that I just have to have.
Screw it.
Besides Star Wars Episode III merchandise will be hitting stores soon, and theres the new Harry Potter book coming out too. Come to think of it, this is shaping up to be a geektacular year!
Time to start padding the ol bank account.
I think Ive decided what I want to do with myself. I want my own store. A store that sells cool t-shirts, new comics, graphic novels, geek merchandise and used video games. Basically everything that I like, and then some. I want to start it out very small, with lots of room to grow if need be. This is something thats been rattling around in my head for a long time now, in one form or another. I always thought that it would be a hard sell, in this day and age, but having recently read an article about how comic stores create their own customer base basically just by being there and making the stuff accessible to the consumer, its reaffirmed my desire to give it a try. Now I just need some start up money. GAH.
Work today was the usual dreck. Some days (okay, most days) people piss me off. The absolute worst part about working in a small town, is that you see the same people every god-damned-day! And its not the good, nice, people that come into the store everyday either. Oh no, theyre normal, so they only come in a couple of times a week. Its the weirdos and the head cases that come in each and every day, because they have nothing better to do. Theyre slowly driving me insane.
At least one of the benefits of owning a store like Im planning is that (hopefully) the customers wont be as backwards, ignorant, and annoying. Theyll be more like me; repressed, geeky, social misfits. My kind of people.
