Mega Man, Mega Man, why must you vex me so?
I spend Friday evening watching Ghost in the Shell 1 and 2 with the Amazing Sisu. Thanks for inviting me over. It was time well spent. Too bad I forgot to take any pictures, but there really wasnt much going on. Just us stuffing our faces with pizza and staring at the TV. Not much in the way of interesting photography. Ah, well, maybe next time.
Other than that, the weekend was rather mellow. (Did I just type mellow?) I tried chopping away at some of the packed on snow on my driveway. But that gets boring real quick. Im going to have to invent one of those Supersoaker Flamethrowers to melt it off, and then inadvertently burn the whole town down in the process.
What else did I do? Oh yes.. I re-arranged my Star Wars collection again. I swear Im going to just have to call it a work in process and just leave the damn thing alone.
Theres much more important things I should be doing with my time. Im not getting any younger here, you know.
Oh well, its a hobby
Once again I have squelched on my New Years resolution to save money and not buy any more collectable dust collectors.
Yes I can hear you all now
Gary, you bastard. You say.
Ah yes, I suppose I am, but let me give you the reason/excuse for buying this one.
Here goes
Long, long ago, when I was just a little whippersnapper, my older cousin Rodney got me hooked on Star Wars. Now, to me it seemed like Rod had everything there was to be had Star Wars and to be honest the guy had a lot. On occasion, whenever Id get to go visit, wed always play Star Wars with his vast collection of figures. Wed each pick a base, and then take turns picking which figures would be in our armies. Of course, Id always pick the Imperial Attack Base. That was my favorite.
As the years went by, I eventually did, acquire most of Rods action figure collection, or rather what was left of it. The years had not been kind, and the Imperial Attack Base, among other things, will never be seen again.
So today I bought my own!
Thank you E-Bay, for making childhood memories come to life again, albeit at five times their original value.
And that is the last collectable Im buying this year. I swear!
Fun things to do (well maybe):
1. Find out how many times I type the words Star Wars in my journal.
2. Tell me a good song to find at the iTunes online music store.
3. What do you do when youre bored?
