I wish the internet captivated me the way it did in 1995. Everything's become branded. Corporate. Mainstream. I remember spending the first few years at 14.4kbps looking for improvised munitions, general anarchy and guitar tabs. I had to type my connection string into WinSock. I made a better website than CNN. Warez was completely unregulated. The newsgroups actually held information. There were no pop-ups. No spam. No blogs. No Stile.
Now? I look at SomethingAwful, Shacknews, SG, QuestionableContent, DieselSweeties, BoingBoing... and I'm done. Maybe a little empornium if I feel like flipping through the haystack for that one needle of porn that doesn't involve some cheaply plasticized proto-woman with a roid-raging, Cialis sponsored dude ass-to-mouthing her. There just isn't anything new on the internet anymore; there's just a sloppy evolution of what was always here.
I haven't had a cigarette today so I'll blame my cyber-angst on that. I'm pretty happy otherwise. My life's good. Friends are fun.

Portfolio is coming along. Don't park in front of Queen's Park by the way.
