Long overdue update time. Here's a list of random stuff that's been going on with me.
Found a kick-ass apartment with Obsidian. Now here's to hoping we pass the credit check and that I land a steady gig real soon.
As far as jobs go things started looking pretty good today as a matter of fact. Well, in order to fully understand how things are falling into place we have to go back a couple days.
Tuesday morning I was doing the usual call arounds which on this day included inquiry about an opening I saw for an A/V tech at a pretty big company. Turns out the position would pretty much be the same thing I was doing in Toledo... only on a larger scale. (turns out this company did some of the production for the Grammy ceremony)
After a brief chat on the phone I was told to come in to talk and fill out an application. So I finish the call arounds and get dressed. So I get down to the place and after looking at my resume and talking with me a little more, the guy is pretty impressed. My background is perfect, I know how to talk shop with him and my pay expectations are within their range. In fact, he guarantees that I'll maake more than what I'm asking with my experience in the field. But it turns out he had just hired someone apparently in between the time I called and the time I got there.
He did however say that if the other guy didn't work out I'd get a call. He also mentioned that there was the possibility that they may want 2 guys instead of just the one. Either way he says if I don't hear from him to call again in six weeks and he'd probably have something for me.
Without getting into too much detail about how fucked up bureacracy is in this country I'll move to my next plot point by just letting you know that due to the lack of respect and value placed upon the average American in the general work force, in certain instances I'd do better off sitting on my ass and collecting unemployment for doing nothing rather than accept work when I can in order to actually EARN cash.
So today I turned down an offer for some temp work at Disney for those exact reasons. About a half hour after telling Disney to go to hell I got an offer for a better temp position at Universal for about three weeks that will actually be worth my while.
This is great because it will tide me over until April when I've had a couple different people tell me that they may know of some work that I could get. At that point I'll be beyond that 6 week mark and hopefully I can get that permanent gig.
I'm not putting all of my eggs in one basket though. I'm still keeping my eyes open for other stuff that may come up. At any rate continue to wish me luck.
Also go on over and tell Stirfry and emojulie congratulations on their new baby Sarah Noel Danger
There was a lot of other stuff I thought I wanted to say since I haven't updated in a while, but I guess that's enough for now.
There's a lot I want to say about LA in general and it's impression on me. I'd like to talk about some of the people I've met and tell about how it feels to remeet many others, but all of that will have to wait. Hopefully I'll have my own cpu up in the new place soon so I'll can come back to being as active as I used to be. Until next time laytorz.

Congrats on finding a place with Obsidian. She's a good egg.
Glad you're also finding leads and the like...you'll own this town soon...just remember you met me once at a bar...so you can hire me.
