So...
for all intents and purposes yesterday I effectively quit my job. Technically I'm still on the payroll, just on call. Whatever...
Now I'm forced to get up off my ass and do something with myself. I have a temp position starting this week to fall back on, so I'll be able to survive for a while, but it's long past time to move on. I figure if I don't find something solid by the time my lease runs out in April I'll just say fuck it and throw caution to the wind. Anybody wanna put up with my pathetic ass until I get myself on my feet. Preferably in Southern California or the NYC area?
Better yet anybody working on any feature films and need help with production? Anybody bands looking for a manager or someone to help put together a tour? I can't sit around and do nothing. With this temp job I only have to work 3 days a week (and it's really not that much of a paycut actually), but I gotta find something to do with all this idle time. I wish my car was in a little better condition because I would just say fuck it and go jet setting every weekend shopping my resume around. But such is not the case.
Push come to shove I'll end up bumming it off of some of my old college buddies for a month or two until I get on my feet. Some of them are doing pretty good right about now. Some others are pretty disenchanted with Hollywood, but I guess that's just how it goes. Only thing for me to do is go out there and find out how I fair for myself. My dad wants me to go down south and stay with him, but I'm sure he's got alterior motives for that. NYC feels like it's more my kind of vibe, and it might work out a little better logistically, but again I'll never know until I get there I guess. I'm not ruling out anyplace else, but realistically I need to be where the market is for what I'm good at. Enough of this getting by shit... time to make a career move. The bottome line is, it's time for action.
Let's hear it for ground zero folks.
