That encyclopedia website is pretty fucking cool. I could spend three or four hours in that motherfucker. Have you ever read THE DEVIL'S DICTIONARY by Ambrose Bierce? Very cynical/satirical version of a typical dictionary. It's totally up your alley and it isn't too expensive...even at the chain stores.
