I spent a lovely holiday with corriander and LizaRose yesterday. We went out to Griffith Park to enjoy the sunshine for a while and then we went to eat at Fred 62's. Afterwards we went back to their place to watch movies for most of the night. I just happened to pick up The Blues Brothers from the video store on Christmas Eve, with no idea that James Brown would pass away only a few hours later. It was cool to watch him do his thing in remembrance.
Overall it was a good time with good friends. Liz is ready to bust any minute now, so pretty soon they'll be buried in baby business, but they're pretty excited about it. She's planning on having a home birth and a change in their insurance plan won't cover the costs, so in order to help with the out of pocket expenses she's selling prints. Check it out:
So Sheepnumber97245 moved into the space downstairs with her boyfriend Edi. We were hoping someone we knew, or at least someone cool would move in there so the hassle of sharing an address would be as comfortable as possible. Before we knew who would get the space my roomates and I had discussed the possibility of just treating it like an extra room and giving the occupants free access to our place if they were decent people. It just makes it easier because anytime they order a pizza or someone looks for their address, they'll be knocking on our door anyway. Plus all of the utilities and probably the phone and cable lines aren't split between the places. Edi and the sheep already stayed here for a week when they first got into town, so we know they're decent to live with. The idiot contractors who made our life quite uncomfortable for a couple months screwed up the plumbing so I told them they could use our bathroom until it got fixed. It's also cool to have someone to hang with from time to time.
I had the frustrating revelation today that my boss doesn't really know exactly what I do during my shift. Since they switched my schedule for the week I asked him about how certain late night duties would be taken care of. Apparently he didn't know those duties even existed, yet alone were done by me. A couple other little things happened that made me realize that there's no where near enough communication going on between upper and middle management in regards to what each department does. The funny thing is me and one other guy have worked in or with most of them ourselves and have been asking for months why certain things aren't coordinated better. Hopefully this works to my advantage when I have my sit down with them next month. We'll see.
Not much else going on in shockland. I'm looking forward to reaching my late 20's on the 14th. I'm still trying to decide exactly what it is I want to do to celebrate, but I'm sure I'll figure something out soon.
Until then, I'll just be hanging around doing my thing. Find me if you wanna.
