Last night I went on a very impromptu date with the standup girl. I'm extremely broke, but I managed to get through the night without spending any money and without her thinking I'm a COMPLETE loser.
In fact, she might even like me a bit. I had a decent time. No huge spark, but it's nice to just hang out and enjoy female company. She's a bit conservative, but that's to be expected coming from a first generation Vietnamese family. I think at this point she's more fascinated by me than anything else.
At any rate she's planning on going off to grad school in the near future, so I'm not sure how much potential there is for a real relationship, but like I said... right now it's just nice to hang out.
The funny part is that she brought along a friend. I can only assume this was for safety being as how once he realized we were in a public place he disappeared and made himself very scarce. She admitted that she didn't get out much and while it wasn't said directly I kind of picked up this really traditional protective vibe. I find it laughable at this point, but it could get annoying really quickly. I can see it now that if we hang out too much I'm going to have to meet her parents and go through that whole ordeal. I can handle it. Afterall, I am the guy that all the mothers asked to take their daughters to Prom in high school. But I imagine her family might not be too impressed with me not having a steady vocation and such.
Still waiting on things to develop this week. I don't know how much more frustration I can take, but I'm trying. My best friend says he refuses to let me buy a plane ticket out of LA just yet, but I'm trying to be realistic.

ltrain:
When ARE we hanging out again? After finals, I should have more free time. I'll let you know if something comes up. Send me your number for last minute invites. I'm not on SG that often. As you can see how long it took me to reply.
lackluster:
whenever youd like.
