Life... it can be funny sometimes.
This morning I got a bit of a tourists guide stroll through a block or two of Compton from this little old lady, who works there as a school teacher. From the way she talked about it I would have never guessed that it was the city that gave birth to west coast gangsta rap as much as a rural farm community with a lot of diverse hard working people.
Later in the day, in what's supposed to be one of the better parts of Long Beach next to Cal State I was standing two feet away from three LBPD officers all posse'd up with shotguns looking like they were ready for some action.
So after I pay this months rent I have fulfilled the obligations of my lease. I'll be payed up through April 1st at which time I'm thinking I'm gonna move closer to LA. Not sure exactly where just yet, but in regards to my average commute, anywhere north of Venice would put me in a better position than I'm in now.
Conviniently yesterday at work I found out that there may possibly be an opportunity for me to go out on tour with Silverstein. I had never really heard them, but it would be cool to get out on the road again and in theory I could sublet this place, while I was making money on the road and when I came back in April I'd have enough cash put together to maybe finally get my shit together.
There were also whispers of Coachella... which would of course be awesome, but I've learned not to get my hopes up too high on either of these things. Just imagine the possibilities.
Well, that was exciting news that I wanted to share with you all. The promised introspection is on its way though. In the mean time, I'm bored, so bother me.
