Seven days until I start my new life. Fucking scary.
I've been having trouble sleeping lately. My room is too quiet. The lack of a soundtrack to distract me makes it easier to think about missing people that I love, especially the ones that used to love me.
I've been trying to tie up loose ends, and make peace with things that have ended on bad terms. I sent an e-mail to my ex-girlfriend, telling her how much I appreciate her and thanking her for caring for me. I have started saying goodbye to friends, too. The whole process is sad, but it reminds that I have some amazing friends that love me.
One thing that I'd like to do before I go is have a date. Just go out to dinner with a woman and have a good time. I know it sounds pointless since I'm moving 3000 miles away, but it would make me happy. I miss being in the presence of an interesting, intelligent woman (they're hard to come by around here).
Oh well, I went to a friend's house tonight and watched a rodeo. The winner was a guy named Tater. Fuck Yeah!
Listening to: Curtis Mayfield "Move On Up"
Question:
What's the best piece of advice your parents ever gave you?
Me: My mom once told me "You will never waste money on music and books". Damn she's cool!

I dont think my parents ever gave me any real advice or life lessons. They trusted me to make my own way.
