I woke up this morning to an e-mail from an English friend(he lives in the US now), stating that he needed a ride tomorrow and that his family and friends in the UK weren't hurt. Not knowing what the latter half of the messages was refering to, I checked the news and saw what happened across the pond. See what happends when I sleep. Fucking hell!
I checked SG and saw that my buddy, the beautiful Tarragon, was unharmed. Then I sent a series of e-mails to my friends in London. I haven't heard back from one of them, but he might be on tour. I hope to hear from him soon.
I've been hanging out with my housemate, Daryl, and listening to Otis Redding for the past half an hour. Goddamn that man (Otis, not Daryl) had an amazing voice, full of pain, emotion, and conviction. It tears my heart out, and at the same time, calms me. Powerful.
I got a job at a warehouse (blah!). I start on Monday. It's only for a few weeks, to get some money for the LA road trip. I've never been above hard work, and it will get me in better shape, but still...blah! Means to an end.
I was raised in Maryland, but it never felt like home. It's always been an alien environment. It feels like staying at someone else's house. It's interesting to stay for awhile, but after some time you notice strange smells and your not quite sure were they keep the extra towels.
I think I need sleep. Close to finishing some songs. They can wait 'til tomorrow. I think I'll take some new pics, too. Any ideas?
