Hey Kids!
We just got internet again...I seem to have a real memory problem when it comes to paying the cable bill. Oops!
Let's see, what's happened since my last update...
My awesome gf, SallySeersucker, ran her third marathon. This time it was in San Diego. I am so proud of her!
We then decided to go to Mexico...
... because I have never been out of the US and I've always wanted a Velvet Elvis...
A few days later, I spent the day with a certain 80's hair band...
They came in to play some cover songs for a live webcast. They are a good bunch of guys, and a lot of fun.
After I got home fro work, SallySeersucker and I left our cat, Griffin,
at home and walked to Mel's Diner by our apartment on Hollywood and Highland. After we ate, we saw a large group of people, barricades, and red carpet. It was the Ocean's 13 premier.
After squeezing through the crowd, we finally made our way to Coffee Bean, got our drinks, and decided to do some people watching. Celebrity-crazed tourists are always fun to look at! We found a less crowded spot by a barricade at the Mann's Theater parking lot. Everyone was dressed in Armani suits and evening gowns, while I was in my old leather motorcycle jacket and work clothes and Sally was in her fashionable blue nylon windbreaker from 1989. Next thing we know, a security gaurd asked us how many was in our party. I said "two?". He opened the barricade for us and handed us passes to the premier!!!!! (WTF?)
They ushered us into the theater, where we were suddenly standing in line next to Brad and Angelina, with George Clooney and Al Pacino behind us. I definately felt underdressed!
We were seated, watched the movie, then started walking out of the theater. That's when we were told to follow the red carpet down to the VIP after show party. "Ok??" (WTF????)
So, Sally and I found ourselves walking down Hollywood Blvd with flash bulbs going off and the occasional "Who are they?" said by our adoring fans.
Having had enough weirdness for one day (and incredibly full bladders), we ade the decision to skip the after party and make a left turn off the red carpet to head home.
The past week, I have been helping Barry Manilow realize his dream of making a Greatest Songs of the 70's cover album...
Monday is my 33rd birthday. Any ideas on what I should do to celebrate? I was thinking strip club, vodka, gambling, and maybe an amusement park. Suggestions are welcomed.
