It's 6:30am. I am home from another painfully long night at work. I'm exhausted.
I've been reminescing about the past lately. Thinking about what past experiences made me who I am today. It's interesting, the things you rememberat this odd hour of the morning. Here's some of them (in chronolgical order)...
*Sitting on the kitchen floor when I was 4 years old with my sister, my mom, and a group of Moroccan soldiers that my mom was friends with, eating a chicken and rice dish with our fingers.
*Arguing the concept of zero with my first grade math teacher, and finally giving up because I realized she didn't want to confuse the rest of the class. I have always hated it when people "dumb things down".
*Being the happiest kid on earth when I had a cardboard box and a roll of duct tape, or by making a fort with an old wool Army blanket and any available furniture
*Being excited to play guitar in many scarey, dimly-lit bars when I was 15
*Making out with my first girlfriend on the hood of my car when I was 16, and finding out how difficult bras can be to unhook when you're nervous. Can you say" awkward teenage grope fest"? Jesus! (that part still hasn't changed much)
I don't know why I get nostalgic when I'm tired. Sometimes, it helps put my life into perspective I guess.
Tell me something you remember.
