Listening to a song tonight reminded me of an ex-girlfriend.
I was madly in love with her.
We went to art museums, she would write while I played guitar, we went for walks by the water, had amazing sex, etc.
We both knew from the start it would never work, but we tried and failed.
It was one of the most exciting and creative times of my life.
When the Romans would conquer a territory, the commanding general would ride around the countryside with a slave standing next to him. As the general blissfully veiwed the land won by his victory, the slave would whisper in the general's ear "All Glory is Fleeting". Appreciate what you have now, because everything is temporary.
As much as I try to stay in the present, somethings seem to suck me back into the past.
I'm done rambling.
Be good to each other, please.

I am the same as you. I tend to find myself being lost in the past. My thoughts constantly swirl with visions of my past as well. I wish I could just live each day for the day it is, but I am always thinking about things that happened "back then"...
