Last night i went out to see a friends band[Kneehigh amongst others]play a charity gig down one of our great music pubs.[The Ferryboat if you're ever in the area!]The place was absolutley packed out so i reckon they made a fair bit of money.The pub is also facing losing it's music license because of the council siding with residents who live on the other side of the river complaining about volume from the bands.The pub has been a music venue for a very long time and the development opposite has only been standing for like a couple of years at the most.This pisses me off.But everyone who used the pub last night voiced their opposition by signing petitions so there is some hope at least.
Anyway after the pub,me my brother a nd a couple of mates headed down The Waterfront for 80's night.I havn't been for aaaaaages and 80's night is always a laugh,hearing all the songs we used to hear on the radio as kids,some of them from albums that we cherished.Ah,memeory lane!
Thursday night i went to see John Otway,that was such a fun gig,the man and his band are very entertaining,if he's ever playing near you go see him and show him some love.You might not like his music that much but he puts on a fantastic show.
I have pictures of that night which i'll post soon,but for now i'm off to find my Shakin' Stevens album,ta ra!
