yes, misery definitely loves company... i love my sister & she & i can laugh together like no other, but sometimes i don't like her very much. she has her bitch wall of defense up most of hte time. really she still upset about things that happened over 20 years ago. i mean how long can you blame your parents for things before you accept that they are just people & people are not perfect.

agreed! just needed a reality check due to certain things that have been said to me recently. at 1st i scoffed & said they were untrue, but knowing that true knowledge comes from knowing you know nothing, was forcing me to reconsider.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! getting the keys is soooo exciting. as a home owner i offer these words of advice: do whatever you have to before you move in or at least before you unpack. it is inifinitly easier that way. also, whatever you can afford to have someone else do for you, write the check with a smile on your face....we did quite a bit a remodeling ourselves & it wore us out. (the consumer actually talked me into buyng this house. i thought it needed too much work...) when are you moving in? it's so much easier when you don't have to worry about selling 1 house to buy another.

(my girl robin made meanest mudslide this side of the pacos. mmmm mudslides) i liked the bay area, but don't ever really miss it & i've been here for 3 years. but i have had the luxury of traveling for work. we'll see if i go crazy now that that job has ended...do you miss cali?

i am all too familiar with germany & how annoying the germans can be with all the world domination. ha! my "brother" that i have known since 4th grade is german & i am also great friends with his mother. we often joke that his mom was deported by the neat & tidy police, since she is not. (1 time the house was ransacked by thieves & my bro asked "mom, have you been cleanning up again?") actually she & i have talked about taking a trip to germany forever & now that i am footloose & fancy free we may make it a reality next spring. i will of course, need to dust off my german, but i used to be conversational so hopefully i haven't lost it completely. of course, they all speak perfect english & will be correcting my grammar non-stop, but hey, that's part of their charm, right?

actually my neighbors have always been friendly, but very much on the square side. when we 1st moved in we were coming from el cerrito, where none of our neighbors spoke to us until we were packing the moving truck to leave. & we lived there for 4 years! the 1st day we were here these people we talking to us, making us dinner & offering us their help. coming from a city where no one talked to each other, it was a little overwhelming at 1st, but now i like this college town friendliness.

good for you for not rocking back & forth in a dark room for 2 days after signing your life away. but hiking & drinking for a few hours do fall into the decompression realm.

bummer about your friends moving to europe. the upside is that you will have someone to stay with the next time you go. are they planning on going somewhere that you would actually want to visit? can they legally work in the EU? it can be tough for americans to get work visas over there given the high rate of unemployed europeans.

ah yes, very satisfying when former co-workers/bosses realize how great you were. i worked for my last company for 5 years & in that time we were bought & sold 3 times. the last 2 were official mergers, so they were nightmares! it's always great when you have a high stress job that is made worse by constantly having to prove yourself to a new management team of east coast ivy league snobs.

in theater, the rivalry between chicago & nyc is legendary & after this last merger i understand why. to an old school new yorker, every other part of the country is inferior & insignifigant. so if you are from somewhere else, you will never be able to prove yourself. especially if you are on the west coast, since we spend all our time drinking wine in our hot tubs.

in my defense, i didn't really "forget" it just took me 2 days to remember this 14 year old 1 time incident...& i initially remembered him, but not the actual act. my memory lapse is not due to volume, since compared to most of my girlfirends & sister i am WAY behind in the #'s game, but more of signifigance & maybe a little trauma. now i am remembering everything about him & what a dick he was. no wonder i deleted him from my r.a.m.!

let's get mr. agro & ms. p.a. together so they can have a lovely manic life together. he was 1 of my favorite people, i mean i picked him for crying out loud!!! of course when we were dating he was angel & NEVER acted like like an angry idiot.

but now the bad outweighs the good & i know i need some space from it. taking that trip really helped me to see that i am happier not being affixed to or living with him. i wish i could blame his behavior on drugs: that would be a an easier fix than this behavior he learned from his family.

it's all so typical...well at least i know i'm "normal"
