It's icy here in Arkansas and I don't have to work tomorrow. I'm very happy about this. Instead of a productive day at the office, aka radiator hell, I am going to read Jane Eyre. I haven't read Jane Eyre in about two years and I really like it so I'm going to read it. Also, I hate Arkansas and I have to devise a plan for escape. Any ideas?

I've often felt the same way about Arkansas, but I don't know if I do anymore. I've realized that for the most part any other city is going to be similar to the one I live in now. There are going to be different people, but the same types. And just different numbers of the same establishments. I really wouldn't say AR is such a bad place. There are a lot of religious zealots, but Jonesboro is nicknamed "The City of Churches" and I have little trouble avoiding or ignoring them completely. I've never received a negative comment about my septum, for instance, just those of mild fascination and interest over how much it hurt. I'm sure Fayetteville has more to do, since it has a livelier community and the whole Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers metropolitan area so I'm sure it isn't so bad. As long as there are plenty of shows around (which there aren't around here, I will admit), I think I would be satisfied. That isn't to say living somewhere nice, like the beach, wouldn't be preferable, but it's always best to make do with what you have until you're in a position to make the important decision on where you want to live for the next forseeable future. It seems like you do need a change though, and it sounds like your job is awful. Perhaps you should start there if the possibility exists. That could help more than you realize. Good luck with whatever you decide.
