Yeah, they had a Troma marathon on cable leading up to Halloween. They were all pretty fuckin' crazy. I think the Toxic Avenger 1 and 2 are probably my favorites. I love how over the top they were.

Hey, I just saw this movie the other day called Dead and Breakfast. I don't know if you've seen it, but if you haven't I have a feeling you'd like it. It has a classic soundtrack too, definitely makes the movie. I liked it enough I bought it, even if it only has 5 real songs. Check it out if you can. I even spotted a clip from The Creeping Terror and Killer Shrews in that video. Those are on two of my fav eps of MST3K. The Creeping Terror is easily one of the worst movies ever made. I mean that as a compliment, of course.
I really don't have any real plans for Halloween. I see that you are headed for NY, that should be fun. Maybe you'll run into Jason, well if you drop by Manhatten. There's this dude I see around here from time to time who looks kinda like Michael Myers. Well, through the mask at least. The music to that movie is so creepily perfect.

i enjoy reading your posts always. every one teaches me about a facet of someones life and something new. i didnt know a thing about B movies, horror flicks and halloween monster type stuff before divine. now i have a understanding. i know its cliche, but its like a whole new world for me...just about everything i see on here is basicly. all you need is a open mind, i guess.

Monster Squad was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I miss it a lot. I wish there were a version on DVD but it hasn't happened yet. Hopefully Paramount or Universal or whoever owns the rights to it will have a change of heart.

If that guy is who I think it is, he was the best thing about American Splendor, which isn't saying a lot. I couldn't get into it.

Yeah, Tim was quite striking, with his waifish physique. And that dashing fashion sense, flinging his shirt over his shoulder like some bon vivante. I liked the comment "Jeez, do a push-up, kid."
That's kind of weird, how you put it. In effect, The CBP (the abbreviated Charles B. Pierce, just between you and me), intentionally or unintentionally gave us a twisted feast of the Arkansas buffett. A cross between Deliverance and a bad Hee-Haw sketch. So, you were born in Arkansas? How did you escape conforming to it? I hope I don't sound like i'm a jerk, I really have nothing against Arkansas, i'm basically taking your word on most of this stuff.
Oh, and as far as the Wild Horses thing goes, I'll work on it.

That witches movie doesn't quite ring a bell, but if It's fucked up in the least, i'd probably be interested. That reminds me, they usually show this old french serial from 1915 on TCM during the Halloween season (It's called Les Vampires). It's about this underground society (i'm not sure if they're actually vampires or not) who terrorize the people of Paris. I think I sat down and watched the whole thing one time, it was definitely creepy enough to be worth it. So... Charlie B. Pierce is a hero of yours huh?

ps: are you into The Zombies at all. Their name is a little decieving (they are basically a 60's pop/rock group), but they were on the Munsters on time. So they do have that going for them.

I actually saw this movie for the first time only a few years back. It was one of those movies I had always meant to see, but never quite got the chance. It's gotta be the creepiest and coolest movie ever. There's also an alternative soundtrack out there with Type O Negative. It fits in perfectly with the movie.

Nah, Lady in the Water isn't a werewolf film. The only thing it has in common with werewolves is that they both involve creatures of the supernatural. There is a wolfish creature in the movie, but a werewolf it isn't. Don't let that dissuade you though, because it is splendid.


THAT SHIRT: If it had Dracula on there and said Squad underneath the monsters I would pick it up without a second thought. Although, it does look a little femine cut. Fuck it, I'd wear it anyway!

Ah yes, William Castle was great. I loved the gimmick he did for his film "The Tingler," where he set up buzzers underneath the seats in theaters to scare people. And warned his audience that the fright from his movies might cause "sudden death."Oh yeah, "House on Haunted Hill" is another great one. That's a definite halloween tradition around these parts. I think "House of Wax" was probably my favorite movie when I was like 6 or 7, I always thought he looked really cool dressed up in that cape thing of his.

I admit that I haven't seen that FInal Destination movie, but if you liked it it must have some merit.

Thrift shopping is good times, a lot treasures out there. Like this guy said one time: "one man's bile is another man's meal." Well, you get what I mean. There was this part where the Good Doc (aka Vincent Price) set up this acid shower thing and accidently used it on his own wife/girl. So campy and goulish and fun. The Pit and The Pendulum is another one of his I haven't seen for a while but love. Just enough blackness and genuine evil to it to keep interest.

oh shoot, how could I forget my favorite Vincent Price movie...
