Hi beautiful friends!!
I wanted to stop in and give a REAL thought out blog to catch up with everyone here! I realize that I have been detached — I withdrew for a time with reasons surrounding my mental/physical well being, and I’m happy to say that things are looking UP 😍
So here’s the scoop on what I’ve been up to! I started a long journey with focus on my well being as a whole. I quite my job as a spa manager, spent amazing days with my daughter, dove deep into yoga and fitness, and have been beaming ever since. I lost weight physically, and better yet: mentally!
I’ve managed to pay off my student loans, create my 5 year plan, and moved from California to Florida in a Matter of months. It’s been a wild ride & I still have a long way to go, but I’m SO proud and excited with how far I’ve come. So I wanted to share a bit of my journey with you, as I’ve been rogue for so long!
Starting with a choice to nourish my body as treatment for anxiety — I recommitted myself to my yoga practice & picked up some at home workouts
From there, my partner and I decided it was about time to create a fresh start — so we moved across the US just shy of 3000 miles away from our home for the last 5 years!
Our first stop was Death Valley, CA:
It was so peaceful, and had so many different amazing sceneries to explore! Next, I headed to Zion, Utah!
I’ll be honest, it was overly developed and crowded — but I’d love to go back and experience it again some day. Our adventure brought us over the Arizona mountains around the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, which was closed for the winter. I was so excited to see snow for the first time in YEARS!
It was a wild and windy ride through AZ. We didn’t camp anywhere because the weather was outrageous, but i got to hold pieces of the petrified forest & stand in the painted desert ♥️
New Mexico brought me the Carlsbad Caverns, and I was literally brought to tears. That crystallized & fossilized reef stole my heart!
Through Texas, we mostly stopped at rest areas. Which were surprisingly fancy and well kept? Haha but we made it to Texas Sea Rim Park — where the marsh meets the sea. I watched in awe as an active thunder storm swirled and twirled and the clouds shapeshifter like magic overhead. Safe in our van, the lightning struck around us in bolts that were near and far.
Next, we went to New Orleans & stayed a MUCH needed night in a nice hotel room. We put on the ritz & treated ourselves to a nice dinner, sauntered down bourbon street, and explored the French quarter!
The final stretch through Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama was lush and green and full of water & life. We didn’t get to see any gators — but I’m sure our chances are still pretty high. We took one rest at a pull of in Florida and finally made it to the space coast the very next day! We have been here about two weeks, & I am just so excited to start planting my routes and building connections with new and exciting stories to come!
Thank you all so much for stopping in to catch up! I know I have been MIA, but believe me when I say it was the BEST thing I could have done for my health.
Excited to continue to share this ever unfolding journey with you 💜
Until next time!
Xx Divinee 😘
