Hello my sweets 🍭
What is your favorite season? I know, it’s so damn hard to choose just one. I am a big nature freak, I LOVE to be outdoors. I love water therapy. I love the woods, the changing of colors, the breeze, the smells, the animals. You name it.
Naturally, my two favorite seasons here in Wine County are summer and autumn. While I adore the budding blossoms of spring, the allergies that accompany this beautiful season are outrageous in my county. And winter here just means it’s 30 degrees at night, no snow, tons of rain, and frozen windshields — and I live right in the heart of a flood zone.
In the fall, the vineyard lined hills turn from green, to yellow, to red. When the leaves turn red I feel the feminine energy rush over like Mary Magdelan is just holding us all dear. Sweaters, leggings, chopstick buns, beanies, and boots come in to play here. It is just fucking magical with all the different breeds of trees changing and renewing.
Now summer here, while it can be stupid hot sometimes, it rarely goes over 90 degrees (Fahrenheit). There are endless opportunities in this season. Hikes to hidden waterfalls in the redwood forests. Floating down the river. Lying on the warm sand while the ocean breeze flies over you. Hikes to swimming holes and lakes. Climbing over massive boulders of jade and granite to get to that perfect peaceful river spot near Frog Woman Rock. There are just no words to describe the beauty of Northern California. I even lived in San Diego for a year, and while I enjoyed it thoroughly and the beaches were warmer — there is no place like home for me, and home is right here in Sonoma County.
Here are a few of my favorite summer & fall photos!
