So, I left Sudbury almost a month ago, and made my way to the Montreal Anarchist Bookfair - it was the sixth annual, and it's north amerika's largest anarchist gathering. Anyway, I fell in love with Montreal, and a lot of the people there, and was invited to stay for an extra two weeks. So stay I did.
I ran to the top of mountains, danced in tree branches, made love to unusual bodies, I hitchiked east and put my hands in the ocean, I played among fireflies and streetlights, followed rivers, shores, footpaths and highways. I felt heavy stone, held onto its dependibility, dropped it into sand pits, and watched it spark.
Not to say that it hasn't been hard. I'm broke as hell, living on the excess of a trampled planet. There has been fear, doubt, cold, wet, hunger, and inescapable lights. There has been harassment, rudeness, indignance and shaming. I don't mind. Their scorn can never exceed my passion.
I live with my heart, and this world is beautiful.
In nine days my travelling partner and I will be marching in an eight-day trek between Montreal and Ottawa in support of refugee and migrant rights, including a call to end security certificates. The website is http://www.solidarityacrossborders.org
Check it out if you're interested, and please feel welcome to drop a note of support, or donate, or whatever.
Much love from wherever I might find myself next.
May you fall in love with the world as much as I have.
In struggle and passion,
